Meeting October 13th, 2011

Jim Cook, MAC Group Senior Business Development Manager led a delegation to speak at a public meeting held prior to the Gulgong Chamber of Commerce meeting.

Key points of the presentation are listed below. Chamber intends to get an electronic copy of the presentation to put on this website for download.

• All stages of the process will be in close consultation with the community
• Other then manufacturing buildings, all aspects and stages of development and day-to-day running of the village will be open to local businesses and people
• The MAC Group anticipate new jobs in the Gulgong area
  4,000 new mining jobs and 5,000 support jobs
• They are providing accommodation to the new workers
• The village will be 'dry' - no alcohol on site
• Initially the village will have 400 beds with the potential to expand
• Men and women may be housed in the village
• The MAC Group are willing sponsors of local groups and events - examples were sited from Narrabri.

Jim Cook affirmed that he and his team wewre more than happy to work closely with Gulgong Chamber of Commerce to make sure that the concerns of the Gulgong community were being addressed.
